Detectives in Charles County, Maryland, are seeking public assistance to identify a suspected serial rapist. The man is accused of raping multiple women between 1996 and 2003. According to law enforcement, the suspect would offer rides to women under false pretenses. After picking them up in Washington, D.C., or Prince George’s County, he drove them to Charles County, where he allegedly attacked and assaulted them. The suspect is described as a Black man who was in his late 30s to early 50s during the crimes and is now likely between his 50s and 70s. Investigators have identified various vehicles he used, including a green-lime Ford pickup truck and several other cars with partial Maryland tags. One reported incident in April 2003 involved a woman who was allegedly raped after accepting a ride from a man in a teal Buick Skylark. Law enforcement believes there are similarities between this and other cases, indicating the same person may be responsible. The victims were typically African-American women aged 18 to 45, often alone. Many reported that the suspect either forced them into his car or lured them with the promise of a ride. Some victims fell asleep in the vehicle, only to wake up in Charles County. Detectives are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
