Mark Cooper shifts focus to disaster response training after serving Louisiana governors

Mark Cooper, a Republican, served as chief of staff for Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards for seven years. He previously held a similar role under Governor Bobby Jindal. Cooper is now applying his disaster response expertise beyond Louisiana. He recently attended the National Governors Association meeting in Denver to prepare new governors for crisis management. In December, he will train chiefs of staff for new governors at Harvard University and conduct exercises for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in California. Cooper has extensive experience in emergency management, including roles at Walmart and in Los Angeles.
