Marina Abramovic promotes silence in new Zurich exhibition
Artist Marina Abramovic is shifting her focus from extreme performances to promoting silence and relaxation. At her retrospective in Zurich, she has created a "Decompression Chamber" where visitors can disconnect from technology and reflect inwardly. This new installation contrasts sharply with her earlier works, which often involved intense physical challenges and emotional extremes. Videos of her past performances, including those depicting the horrors of the Yugoslav Wars, are also featured in the exhibition. The retrospective, running until February 26, showcases Abramovic's 55-year career and includes both video and live performances. The exhibition has elicited strong reactions from visitors, with some feeling overwhelmed by the content.
