Duterte was arrested at Manila's airport after returning from Hong Kong, following an arrest order from the International Criminal Court related to his drug war policies. Marcos emphasized that the arrest was in response to Interpol's request. Duterte's daughter claimed he was forcibly taken to a plane bound for The Hague. The former president has defended his actions during the drug war, despite investigations revealing instances of wrongful deaths.
