Marcos administration untroubled by potential Duterte protests
The Marcos administration in the Philippines does not feel threatened by potential protests supporting former President Rodrigo Duterte, who was recently arrested. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated there are no signs of unrest. Philippine National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo confirmed the police are prepared for any protests. She emphasized the right to express opinions but noted that not all freedoms are absolute. Duterte was arrested under an International Criminal Court warrant for alleged crimes against humanity related to his drug war. He is set to appear before the ICC in The Hague on Friday.
