Manga publishers release deluxe editions of popular titles

Manga has traditionally been published in affordable paperback formats. However, large publishers are now offering deluxe editions of popular manga series. These deluxe editions usually feature oversized pages, faux leather binding, and exclusive extra content. Notable titles available in deluxe format include "Berserk," which tells the story of Guts, a warrior seeking revenge. This series has been highly influential in both comics and video games. The "Berserk Deluxe Edition" is available in 14 volumes, with prices ranging from about $27 to $44. Another famous series is "Vagabond," which explores the life of Miyamoto Musashi. The first volume, a hardcover collection of the first three books, is priced at $42. "Trigun" is a cult classic that follows Vash the Stampede. Its deluxe edition collects two volumes in a nearly 700-page hardcover. Volume prices range from about $28 to $46, with a new volume set to release in June. "Hellsing," a dark supernatural manga, is also available in three deluxe volumes. Prices range from $30 to $43. "Vinland Saga," which combines historical events with a tale of war and revenge, has six deluxe volumes out, with additional volumes planned for release. Other popular box sets include the "Akira 35th Anniversary Box Set" for $126, the "Sailor Moon: Naoko Takeuchi Collection" for $61, and the "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" hardcover set for $61. As the demand for these deluxe editions grows, more titles will likely follow.
