Manchester United pays £21.4 million to replace Erik ten Hag with Ruben Amorim

This includes £10.4 million for Ten Hag's compensation and costs associated with dismissing his coaching staff. Amorim's release from Sporting CP accounted for the remaining £11 million. His contract's release clause was initially £10 million, but an extra £1 million was negotiated to speed up the process. This managerial change comes as United faces financial pressures, having lost £312.9 million before tax over the last three seasons. Amorim may have a limited transfer budget unless funds are raised through player sales.
