Man stabs mother to death in Brisbane front yard
A man named Alexander Clive Webb is accused of stabbing his mother, Cecilia Yoke Webb, to death in Brisbane. This tragic incident happened in the front yard of their home at around 4:20 PM on Monday. The 79-year-old woman had multiple stab wounds and was declared dead at the scene. According to police, Alexander Webb, 40, booked a flight to Japan shortly after the alleged stabbing. He was arrested just two hours later at Brisbane Airport. Detective Inspector Michael Jones described the crime scene as extremely horrific, noting that it was one of the worst he had seen in over 20 years of experience. Webb reportedly purchased a Japanese cooking knife before traveling to his mother's home, where he is believed to have committed the crime. After the stabbing, he left in an Uber, stopping at another location before heading to the airport. Police said multiple witnesses saw parts of the events leading up to the incident. Webb appeared briefly in Brisbane Magistrates Court but did not apply for bail. A defense lawyer requested more time, and the case has been adjourned until April 22. Webb remains in custody while police continue their investigation.
