Man pleads guilty to attempted murder in Cork case

A 31-year-old man, Aaron Babbington, has pleaded guilty to attempted murder in Cork. He was originally set to go on trial for murder in January 2025 for the attack on Jason Butler on June 14, 2023. The prosecution indicated that the upcoming murder trial could be canceled following Babbington's guilty plea. A victim impact statement from Butler's family will be required for sentencing.
