Man arrested for stealing from schools in Udupi

The Karkala police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Byndoor for stealing valuables from schools. The suspect, identified as Archith Avinash Dodre, was caught on March 20 near St. Lawrence High School in Karkala. Authorities recovered goods worth ₹3 lakh from him. Dodre has reportedly confessed to several thefts at educational institutions in the Udupi district. These include stealing ₹1.5 lakh and three DVRs from St. Joseph English Medium School, and ₹60,000 along with CCTV cameras from St. Mara Gorati English Medium School. Police also mentioned that he damaged property while robbing Government HPS in Nandalike. A car and other tools used for the thefts were also found with him. Dodre has been held in judicial custody for 14 days following his arrest. The police investigation team included various personnel from Karkala and nearby areas.
