Madurai students tour forest for environmental education

Over 100 students from government schools in Madurai participated in a tour of forest areas in Kutladampatti. They also visited the green Tamil Nadu nursery in the Sholavandan forest range. The nature camp was organized by the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Forest, along with the School Education Department. Its goal was to teach students about the importance of forests and environmental conservation. The program is being conducted in all districts. It aims to raise awareness about issues like deforestation and the harmful effects of single-use plastics. Officials believe that when students learn about nature at a young age, they are less likely to harm or pollute it.
