Macron announces $112 billion AI investment to strengthen France's tech ecosystem
French President Emmanuel Macron announced a €109 billion ($112 billion) investment in artificial intelligence, aiming to boost the country's AI ecosystem. This initiative was revealed during the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit in Paris, marking France's response to the U.S. Stargate project. The investment includes significant contributions from various sources, such as €30 billion to €50 billion from the UAE and €20 billion from a Canadian firm. Most funds will be directed toward establishing new AI-focused data centers. Macron emphasized France's competitive edge in AI, highlighting the potential of local startups. Mistral, a Paris-based company, plans to invest billions in an AI cluster to enhance its capabilities, further positioning France as a key player in the global AI landscape.
