Macron and Trump discuss Ukraine ahead of European leaders meeting in Paris

European leaders are seeking a unified response to Trump's second term and his plans to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They are concerned about being excluded from important discussions. Leaders from Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, Denmark, Poland, and the Netherlands attended the informal meeting. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte were also present. Donald Tusk emphasized the need for increased defense spending.
