L.L.Bean begins $50 million renovation of flagship store in Freeport

L.L.Bean is renovating its flagship store in Freeport with a $50 million project that began with the demolition of part of the building. The renovations aim to enhance customer experience and are expected to be completed by fall 2026. While the main store is under construction, departments for men’s, women’s, and kids’ apparel have been relocated to a temporary structure called Camp L.L.Bean. The Hunting and Fishing Store remains open 24/7 during the renovations. Recent upgrades include new entrances and windows to improve accessibility and natural light. The renovated store will feature a sit-down restaurant, a remodeled kids' area, and an expanded outdoor Discovery Park.
