Lisandro Martinez's own goal caps poor start to season for Manchester United

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez scored a horror own goal and made zero tackles in a poor defensive display against Fulham, worsening his difficult start to the season as the club sits on five points from five matches. The own goal came when Martinez inexplicably guided a parried shot back toward his own goal, causing confusion with goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who misjudged it as a back pass. He won just one of two duels but did make three clearances and one interception. Martinez returned late from the World Cup after Argentina lost the final to Spain. United have kept only one clean sheet this season, against Sabah in the Champions League, despite facing weaker opposition including a 10-man Manchester City.
