Lindt wins Australian dark chocolate taste test
A recent taste test of 17 supermarket dark chocolate bars in Australia revealed surprising results, with Lindt 70% Cocoa Dark earning the highest score and Aldi's Moser Roth Finest Dark 70% Cocoa being the best value. The blind taste test, conducted by Nicholas Jordan and friends, assessed texture and taste, with taste being the primary scoring factor. The testers found that the best dark chocolates didn't necessarily correlate with the best milk chocolate brands or higher prices. The study suggests that the nutrition panel, specifically high protein and a four-to-three fat-to-sugar ratio, is a better indicator of quality. The testers also noted that the 70% dark chocolate range seemed to be the "sweet spot" for flavor.
