Lidl's Prosecco wins taste test for best affordable sparkling wine in UK supermarkets
A recent taste test of Prosecco under £10 from major UK supermarkets revealed Lidl's Valdobbiandene Prosecco Superiore, priced at £7.49, as the top choice. It was praised for its balanced flavors of apple and pear. M&S Conte Priuli Prosecco, at £8.25, and M&S Prosecco Italia, at £10, both scored highly for taste and value, earning overall scores of 9 out of 10. Tesco's Finest Valdobbiandene, the most expensive at £10, received lower ratings for flavor. Sainsbury's Prosecco Treviso and Taste the Difference Conegliano also featured in the test, but neither matched the top contenders. The findings highlight that affordable options can compete with pricier bottles.
