LG TVs will remove Google Assistant voice control in May 2025

LG Smart TVs will stop supporting Google Assistant voice control features starting May 1, 2025. Users are receiving notifications about this change. However, the voice control functionality itself, accessible via the microphone button, will remain. The LG-integrated voice assistant will continue to perform basic tasks like content searches. Users accustomed to Google Assistant may miss its advanced features. Alexa support on LG TVs is unaffected by this change. Google is shifting focus to Gemini, which may replace Google Assistant on newer LG TV models. The Google Home app integration with LG ThinQ will still allow users to control their TV and other appliances.
