Lenovo plans to double its production in India to over 12 million units in the 2024-25 fiscal year, up from 6.4 million in 2023-24. The company aims to reduce imports and enhance local manufacturing. Lenovo has achieved 100% local production for its Motorola smartphones and is preparing to manufacture all personal computer models in India. The company is also developing a local component ecosystem. Despite a 14% decline in sales in 2023-24, Lenovo reported a 77% growth in the first half of the current fiscal year. The growth is driven by higher-value smartphone sales, particularly those priced above Rs 20,000.
