Lamba joins Saint-Étienne; Sporting profits from transfer

Portuguese defender Chico Lamba is transferring from Arouca to Saint-Étienne in France, a move that will also benefit Sporting. Sporting will receive half of the transfer fee. The transfer agreement for the 22-year-old center-back is worth approximately eight million euros. Sporting, which holds half of Lamba's sporting rights, will receive four million euros from the deal. Lamba's move to Saint-Étienne, who were relegated last season, comes after he was previously signed by Arouca from Sporting. He was also reportedly targeted by a Turkish club.
