Lacson urges support for Duterte facing ICC trial

Former senator Panfilo Lacson stated that the Philippine government should assist former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is facing trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Lacson emphasized the government's obligation to support all Filipinos, including Duterte. Duterte was arrested on Tuesday under an ICC order related to alleged crimes against humanity during his drug war. The Philippine National Police helped enforce the arrest order upon his return from Hong Kong. After questioning the arrest, Duterte boarded a plane to the Netherlands shortly after the arrest. He had previously addressed the arrest order while in Hong Kong, defending his actions during his presidency.
