Lacson urges aid for Duterte facing ICC trial
Former senator Panfilo Lacson stated that the Philippine government should assist former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is facing trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Lacson emphasized the government's duty to support all citizens, including Duterte. Duterte was arrested on Tuesday after an ICC order related to alleged crimes against humanity during his drug war. The Philippine National Police helped enforce the arrest order upon his return from Hong Kong. After his arrest, Duterte boarded a plane to the Netherlands, where the ICC is located. He had previously addressed concerns about the arrest while in Hong Kong, defending his actions during his presidency.
