Kyle Busch may struggle to make playoffs this season
Kyle Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, is facing challenges in the current season. Although he won a race in 2023, he has not won since June and is at risk of missing the playoffs this year. Insider Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic believes Busch still has a chance to win a race. Bianchi noted Busch's strong performance at the Circuit of the Americas, where he finished fifth after being in a good position to win. However, Busch's current points place him just below the cut line for the playoffs. During a recent podcast, Bianchi commented on Busch's situation. He expressed doubts about Busch’s ability to advance based on points, especially given the performance of Richard Childress Racing (RCR), Busch's team. Bianchi pointed out that the cars are not consistently fast enough to allow Busch to compete at a higher level. Recently, Busch was quoted as saying he did not feel competitive heading into the Homestead-Miami race. He finished in 21st place. Bianchi emphasized the need for RCR to improve the speed of their racecars for Busch to have a real shot at winning. While Bianchi is not overly concerned about Busch's talent, he warns that falling too far behind in points could jeopardize any chance of making the playoffs. He noted it would be crucial for Busch and his team to focus on winning races to improve their standings.
