Kentucky father faces charges after son jumps from moving truck and falls into coma
A Kentucky man, Austin Brooks, 40, is facing charges after his intoxicated driving led to his son jumping from the truck. The incident occurred last week in Scott County while Brooks was on his way to buy beer. Brooks was driving with his son and nephew in the truck bed when they became concerned about his speed and the wet road conditions. As they feared for their safety, both boys jumped out of the moving vehicle. The nephew suffered minor injuries, but the son is in a coma at the University of Kentucky Hospital with a possible brain injury. Brooks has been charged with wanton endangerment and other offenses.
