Keen Footwear has shut down its Portland, Oregon factory, with plans to open a larger facility in Kentucky. The Wall Street Journal reported the closure, but did not specify the date or job losses. Keen's new Kentucky factory will be twice the size of the Portland location, which opened in 2011. Keen, which moved its headquarters to Portland in 2006, also manufactures footwear in its own factories in Thailand and the Dominican Republic, and contracts with other factories.
