Katherine Spinney, devoted caregiver and community member, dies at 71

Katherine “Kathy” Spinney, 71, passed away on November 19, 2024, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. She was born on January 25, 1953, in Dover, New Hampshire, and spent much of her life in Sanford, Maine, and Summerfield, Florida. Kathy was devoted to her husband, Harry, whom she cared for during his struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and had a successful career at Cabletron Systems. A celebration of her life will be held on December 11 and 12 at Black Funeral Home in Springvale, Maine. The family requests donations to Lewy Body Dementia causes or to plant a tree in her memory.
