Kalshi reviews small bets that predicted Trump's press secretary pick
Kalshi is reviewing three small bets that correctly predicted Katie Zacharia would become the next White House press secretary, according to a person familiar with the matter. The trades, all under $100, were placed when Zacharia had only a 1% likelihood of winning the post. The bets occurred on "knowable markets," which experts say are more vulnerable to insider trading than sports or election markets because outcomes can be known in advance. A watchdog report found such markets tied to the 2026 midterms have drawn over $20 million in trading volume. Kalshi has previously emphasized its anti-insider trading measures and cooperation with regulators. The Zacharia trades are far smaller than recent cases, including a teleprompter operator who profited over $107,000 and a soldier facing charges for $400,000 in Polymarket bets.
