Justin Pippen enters transfer portal after freshman season
Justin Pippen, the son of NBA legend Scottie Pippen, has decided to leave the University of Michigan's basketball team. He entered the transfer portal on Monday, even though Michigan is still competing in the NCAA Tournament. As a freshman, Justin played in 28 games this season and averaged 6.7 minutes per game. However, he did not play after March 9. Despite his team making it to the Sweet 16, he will not join them in Atlanta. Justin had a challenging season, averaging just 1.6 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game. Before joining Michigan, he was a highly regarded recruit from Sierra Canyon in California, attracting interest from schools like California, Stanford, and Texas A&M. His decision comes as the transfer portal opened, allowing athletes to switch schools, which will remain available for the next 30 days. The Wolverines are set to face Auburn on Friday night in the Sweet 16. Meanwhile, Justin's brother, Scottie Pippen Jr., plays in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzlies, averaging 9.4 points and 4.3 assists this season.
