Jet2 plans new winter flights to Egypt for warmer getaways

Jet2 has announced plans to potentially launch flights to Egypt as a new winter sun destination. This would expand their offerings beyond current mid-haul flights to Cyprus, with Egypt being just an hour further and known for affordable resorts. The company is also considering new bases in Morocco. If successful, Jet2 would compete with TUI, which already offers packages to popular Egyptian destinations like Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada. Additionally, Jet2's CEO mentioned the possibility of future long-haul flights, although this would require more complex planning. The airline previously operated seasonal flights to New York before suspending them in 2020 due to the pandemic.
