Jennifer Rubin leaves Washington Post to co-launch new publication The Contrarian
Jennifer Rubin has left the Washington Post to co-launch a new publication called The Contrarian with Norm Eisen. This startup aims to counter what they see as an authoritarian threat, emphasizing a pro-democracy stance rather than being anti-Trump. The Contrarian will feature diverse voices and aims to provide reported opinion and cultural commentary. It will publish some content for free, with a subscription model of $7 a month for full access, starting Monday. Rubin's departure follows a series of high-profile exits from the Post amid concerns over editorial independence. She criticized the Post's handling of various controversies, including its refusal to publish a satirical cartoon about owner Jeff Bezos.
