JBL launches high-end amplifiers for home theaters

JBL has launched new luxury amplifiers for home cinema, aimed at enhancing audio quality. The Synthesis SMA Series Amplifiers, available in North America, promise professional-grade sound for home theaters. The SMA-4750 is a four-channel amplifier that offers 750 watts of power per channel. It can also combine channels to reach a maximum of 1,800 watts at 8 ohms. This feature is great for boosting bass sounds. The SMA-8300 offers even more power with eight channels, each delivering 300 watts. When bridged, it can deliver up to 1,200 watts per channel, making it ideal for larger audio setups. Both amplifiers support various input and output options. They can connect to advanced audio networks like DANTE and AES67, enhancing their versatility. Jim Garrett, a senior director at HARMAN Luxury Audio, noted that these amplifiers are designed to elevate home cinema experiences, offering exceptional power and audio fidelity. However, the high-quality sound comes at a significant cost. The SMA-4750 is priced at $5,000, while the SMA-8300 starts at $6,000.
