Jayden McClain invited to USA Basketball minicamp in Florida
Jayden McClain, a 6-foot-6 power forward from Ryle High School, has been invited to the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team minicamp next month in Florida. McClain, who is in the class of 2029, averaged 10.2 points and 8.8 rebounds last season. The minicamp will take place from April 3-6 in Tampa, Florida. It runs alongside the NCAA Women’s Final Four. McClain is among 45 athletes selected for the camp, which includes high school players from the graduating classes of 2026 to 2029. McClain has already received scholarship offers from several notable colleges, including the University of Cincinnati and Ohio State. She set a Ryle record with 128 blocked shots last season and continues to improve her skills in both offense and defense, according to her coach, Katie Haitz. USA Basketball's Women’s National Team director, Briana Weiss, expressed excitement for the talented group. The minicamp provides a chance for athletes to compete and learn while attending the college basketball national semifinal games.
