ISRO prepares for first mission to Venus as Mars research continues

ISRO is preparing for its first mission to Venus, according to Dr. Subbaiah Arunan, project director of the Mars Orbiter Mission. The mission is part of India's broader space exploration efforts and is awaiting final government approval. Dr. Arunan highlighted plans to enhance Mars research, including creating a 3D atlas and studying its geology and atmosphere. He noted that previous Mars data is still being analyzed in collaboration with international agencies. The upcoming Venus mission is expected to be more complex than the Mars mission, requiring precise trajectory modeling. ISRO began developing the concept in 2012, with plans to launch the mission in 2031.
