Israeli hostage returns home unaware of family's tragic fate

Eli Sharabi, an Israeli hostage released after 491 days, was unaware that his wife and daughters had been killed in a Hamas attack. He expressed happiness upon his return, only to learn of his family's tragic fate. Sharabi's wife, Leanne, and daughters, Noya and Yahel, died in their home during the October 7, 2023, attack. His brother, Yossi, also died in captivity, with his body still in Gaza. On Saturday, the Israel Defence Forces announced the release of three hostages, including Sharabi. They were handed over to the Red Cross and received by Israeli forces for medical evaluations.
