Israeli family mourns peace advocate Oded Lifschitz after body returned from Gaza

Oded Lifschitz's body was returned to his family after being held captive in Gaza for over 500 days. He was known as a peace advocate and had many Palestinian friends. His family, particularly his daughter Sharone, expressed deep sorrow at his death. Lifschitz was taken from his home by Palestinian gunmen on October 7, 2023. Israeli officials confirmed he was killed in captivity more than a year ago. His wife Yocheved, also a hostage, was released in 2023. The family can now mourn him after a long period of uncertainty. They had hoped for a different outcome but are now left to grieve for their loved one.
