Israel wants the US to strike Yemen's Houthis again
Israel has requested that the United States resume military strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen, following renewed attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea. The request comes after the Houthis attacked and sank two ships, the Magic Seas and Eternity C, managed by Greek shipping companies, raising concerns about international shipping safety. Israel is also seeking a broader international coalition to address the threat. The Houthis, supported by Iran, have launched over 100 attacks since November 2023, claiming solidarity with Palestinians. The U.S. previously conducted strikes against the Houthis, ceasing them in May 2024.
