Israel reports remains of Shiri Bibas not returned by Hamas despite earlier promise

Hamas returned the bodies of four Israeli hostages to Israel, but Shiri Bibas and her two young sons were not among them. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that only the boys' bodies were identified. Hamas had previously stated that the remains of Shiri and her children would be included in the transfer. However, the IDF reported that the third body was not Shiri Bibas, and it remains unidentified. The Bibas family was abducted during Hamas's attack on October 7, 2023. The return of the bodies marks the first transfer of slain hostages since the ceasefire began last month.
