Israel releases hundreds of Palestinian prisoners today

Israel started releasing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners to the West Bank on February 27. This follows Hamas returning the bodies of four Israeli captives to the International Committee of the Red Cross. Footage shows celebrations in Ramallah as the prisoners were freed. The remains of the Israeli captives were delivered to Israel with help from Egyptian mediators. Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had postponed the prisoner release, linking it to the assurance of future hostage releases.
