Israel prepares military for extended operations in West Bank
Israel's defense minister has ordered the military to prepare for a longer presence in the West Bank. This follows recent bus explosions near Tel Aviv, prompting intensified operations against Palestinian militant groups. The military will expand operations in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur al-Shams, with tanks being deployed in Jenin for the first time in over 20 years. Tens of thousands of Palestinians have already been displaced. The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees has been instructed to stop its activities in the camps. No group has claimed responsibility for the recent bus blasts, which occurred during a fragile ceasefire in Gaza.
