Israel plans extended military presence in West Bank refugee camps for next year
Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that troops will remain in some West Bank refugee camps for the next year. This follows the displacement of around 40,000 Palestinians from three northern camps. The military is preparing for an extended presence in these areas and will not allow residents to return. This decision comes amid an intensified military offensive in the West Bank. Since the offensive began on January 21, violence has increased, resulting in many casualties and displacements. Recent attacks have also been reported, including explosions targeting parked buses in Israel.
