Israel plans extended military presence in West Bank refugee camps for next year
Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that Israeli troops will remain in some West Bank refugee camps for the next year. This follows the displacement of around 40,000 Palestinians from three northern camps. The military is preparing for an extended presence in these areas and aims to prevent residents from returning. This decision comes amid an intensified military offensive in the West Bank, which began on January 21. The offensive has resulted in significant violence and displacement, with increased Palestinian attacks reported. Recently, three empty buses in Israel were damaged in what police suspect was a militant attack.
