Israel identifies sons of Shiri Bibas among bodies returned by Hamas

Israel announced that one of the four bodies returned by Hamas is not Shiri Bibas. Instead, Israel confirmed the identities of her sons, Kfir and Ariel, who were taken hostage on October 7, 2023, and accused Hamas of killing them. Thousands of Israelis mourned the four dead hostages returned by Hamas, marking the first body handover during a fragile ceasefire. Hamas claimed the remains included those of Bibas and her sons, whose father was released earlier this month. Military spokesman Avichay Adraee stated that the body claimed to be Shiri Bibas does not match any kidnapped individuals. He asserted that Ariel and Kfir were killed in captivity in November 2023 by Palestinian militants.
