Israel disputes Hamas claim on body of Shiri Bibas returned from Gaza

Israel announced on February 21 that one of the bodies returned from Gaza is not Shiri Bibas, despite Hamas's claims. Hamas had stated they handed over four bodies, including Bibas and her two sons, during a ceasefire. Israeli forensic experts confirmed the identities of two slain hostages but could not identify the third body, which did not match any known hostages. The Israel Defense Forces called this a "serious violation" of the truce. Israeli Prime Minister accused Hamas of substituting a Gazan woman's body for Bibas. He stated that efforts would continue to recover Shiri Bibas and all remaining hostages.
