Israel confirms body returned by Hamas is not that of abducted mother Shiri Bibas

Israel announced that a body returned by Hamas is not that of Shiri Bibas, a mother abducted in October 2023. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that the remains do not match any known hostages. The Bibas family, including Shiri and her two sons, Ariel and Kfir, were taken from Kibbutz Nir Oz. The boys' remains were identified, but the IDF stated they were murdered in captivity in November 2023. The IDF called for Hamas to return Shiri Bibas and all other hostages. The statement did not mention the remains of another hostage, Oded Lifshitz.
