Israel agrees to release 620 Palestinian detainees for hostages
Israel has agreed to a new exchange involving the release of 620 Palestinian detainees in return for the remains of four hostages. This decision follows a previous delay in releasing prisoners, which had raised concerns about the ongoing ceasefire with Hamas. The agreement, mediated by Egypt, comes after Hamas released six Israeli hostages last week. The ceasefire, which began last month, is set to expire this weekend unless extended. Talks for a permanent resolution have not yet started. The situation remains tense, with Hamas accusing Israel of violating the truce due to the delays. Currently, 63 hostages are still held in Gaza, with at least 32 believed to be dead.
