Investigation into history-sheeter's participation in school event
The Tamil Nadu School Education Department is investigating a school event in Chandrayanpalli village, near Ambur, after a history-sheeter was allowed to participate. The annual day function took place on March 22, 2025, and involved students receiving prizes and performances. Complaints from educationists and social activists led to the inquiry, which was conducted on March 24. The school headmaster, K. Chandrasekar, is being held responsible for the situation. The district educational officer stated that a report has been submitted, and disciplinary action will be taken against the headmaster. At the event, G. Sunita, a village panchayat president, was invited, but her husband, K. Ganesh, attended as well. Ganesh, who has a history of criminal activity including extortion and robbery, sang at the event and handed out prizes. He had recently been released from jail on conditional bail. A video of his participation has since gone viral on social media.
