Intuitive Machines' second lunar lander mission launches today
Intuitive Machines is preparing to launch its second lunar lander mission, IM-2, on February 26. The mission will carry NASA and commercial payloads, including a drill for ice mining and a communications system from Nokia. The IM-2 lander, named Athena, aims to land at Mons Mouton on March 6 or 7. It will also deploy a hopping vehicle called Grace, which will test new technology on the lunar surface. This mission follows the IM-1 mission, which had a flawed landing due to equipment issues. Intuitive Machines has addressed these problems and is confident in the improvements made for IM-2.
