Indian embassy urges nationals to leave Bukavu as conflict escalates in Congo

The Indian embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo has advised its nationals in Bukavu to leave immediately due to the advancing M23 rebels. The embassy emphasized the need to prepare essential items and travel documents. This warning comes as the M23 rebels are reported to be 20-25 kilometers from Bukavu, following violent clashes that have resulted in over 773 deaths in Goma and nearby areas. The embassy is closely monitoring the situation. Previously, the Ministry of External Affairs stated that all Indians in the DRC were safe. The situation has escalated, with M23 gaining control of Goma and continuing their advance toward Bukavu.
