Indian Embassy in Congo urges nationals to evacuate Bukavu due to security threats

The Indian Embassy in Kinshasa, Congo, has urged Indian nationals in Bukavu to leave immediately due to escalating security threats from M23 rebels. The rebels are reportedly advancing towards Bukavu, which is about 20-25 kilometers away. The Embassy issued multiple advisories, advising residents to prepare emergency plans and keep essential documents and supplies ready. They are also collecting information from Indian nationals for better coordination. Previously, the Embassy had advised Indian nationals in Bukavu on January 30. Most of the approximately 1,000 Indians in Congo have already relocated to safer areas amid the ongoing conflict.
