India enhances education using immersive technologies for 200 educators

Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Foundation is using advanced technology to improve education and skills training. They are training more than 200 educators with tools like Extended Reality (XR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). These technologies help connect theoretical knowledge with real-world experiences, making learning more enjoyable and effective. Schools and universities in India are increasingly adopting these immersive methods. With support from the National Skill Development Corporation, EON Reality, and KEDMAN Skilling, they are developing improved educational programs. The World Skills Academy initiative aims to equip young people with important skills for the future. Manav Rachna is piloting projects to create training modules for 36 different skills, running these programs at their various institutions. This effort is part of a larger goal to provide industry-relevant skills to young learners. Immersive technologies create interactive learning experiences. Students can practice skills in a safe, simulated environment. For example, engineering students can work with virtual machinery, while medical trainees can simulate surgeries. Business students can make decisions based on simulated market conditions, enhancing their understanding. Beyond universities, these initiatives are reaching schools and vocational programs. They are making learning more engaging by allowing students to conduct science experiments in virtual labs or practice trades like automotive repair using interactive simulations. As industries increasingly adopt AI and immersive technologies, there is a growing need for skilled workers. This initiative aims to prepare students for future careers by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in immersive learning. The goal is to bridge the skills gap in India and redefine how education is approached in a tech-driven world.
